The Japanese Restaurants Association of Canada (JRAC) presents the 2013 “Washoku Matsuri: Japanese Food Festival” on Monday, November 11th, 2013 at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.

This special event brings together some of the top Japanese chefs in Canada to personally serve you authentic signature Japanese dishes that has captivated foodies and culinary experts alike. The variety of dishes prepared by the chef’s will introduce key Japanese ingredients and cooking techniques,
expressing the connection between food and culture in Japan and health benefits of Washoku cuisine. JRAC aims to deepen the understanding of authentic Japanese food culture to interested public in Canada. The fundraising support will go towards new programs and educational seminars for chefs, culinary students and diners.

Japanese Cuisine from 10 chef’s and beverages from Sake Institute of Ontario

Enjoy amazing food from over 10 top Japanese cuisine chefs from across the GTA and also fantastic line up of sake, beer, wine and other beverages from our sponsors.

Maiko Demonstration by Beauty by Masayo – Get up close to see a make-up artist and hairstylist transform a model into a Maiko.
Chef Demonstrations of Maguro Kaitai and live Uni – Watch a whole tuna filleting demonstration and also a live Uni shucking demonstration.
Wadaiko: Traditional Japanese Drumming Performance – Enjoy the thundering sounds of Japanese drums with Nagata Shachu.

Washoku Matsuri will feature businesses and chefs from: Cafe Michi, Famu, Fin Izakaya, Ginko, Hiro Sushi, Izakaya Ju, Kaji, Konnichiwa, Miyabi, Mye, Ozawa Canada, Ryoji, Sakanaya, Taro’s Fish, Toshi Sushi, True World Foods and Zen.

Beverages will be provided by: Asahi, E & J Gallo Winery Canada, Kado Enterprise, Ontario Spring Water Sake, Ozawa Canada, Sakagura Canada and Sapporo. We look forward to seeing you at our 2013 Washoku Matsuri!
